Post Capital Partners’ Cheang Participates in Opus Connect Private Equity Industry Conference

Addresses the importance of ‘thoughtful’ succession planning for family-business owners and the role of private equity to facilitate transitions

New York, March 10, 2017 – Christopher Cheang, Director, Head of Business Development for Post Capital Partners, recently participated in an Opus Connect Chicago chapter panel on Investing in Family Owned Businesses with Institutional Capital. Opus Connect is an invitation-only professional organization focused on lower middle market and middle market M&A.

Buyers and sellers of family-owned businesses face certain challenges in negotiating, closing, managing and exiting a successful transaction. In addressing those challenges, the Opus Connect panel of experts discussed how institutional capital can provide a solution to support growth, execute a generational transfer or buy out a partner.

Mr. Cheang addressed the importance of thoughtful succession planning for family-business owners and how private equity can play an important role in the process.  “Many family-business owners, particularly in the lower middle market, do not fully understand private equity and how it can be the best option for them to achieve their desire for liquidity and wealth diversification, as well as to have a partner to help drive the growth of the business to support a successful exit.”
